Performance Analysis of the Random Access Protocol in TETRAPOL Trunked Radio Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper provides a performance evaluation of the TETRAPOL random access protocol. The results are based on a Markovian model which is also presented. The Markovian model is used to derive quality of service parameters, e.g. mean throughput, waiting probability, and mean random access delay. The analytical results are compared to results based on stochastic simulation. Our prototypic implementation of the TETRAPOL protocol stack uses the Specification and Description Language (SDL). The mean values of the simulation results correspond to the analytical results with only small differences. Furthermore, these results are compared to the maximum number of users which can be served by TETRA systems. Author

Multi-channel Medium Access Control Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey
Extensive researches on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been performed and many techniques have been developed for the data link (MAC) layer. Most of them assume single-channel MAC protocols. In the usual dense deployment of the sensor networks, single-channel MAC protocols may be deficient because of radio collisions and limited bandwidth. Hence, using multiple channels can significantly ...

متن کاملSpectrum Assignment in Cognitive Radio Networks Using Fuzzy Logic Empowered Ants
The prevalent communications networks suffer from lack of spectrum and spectrum inefficiency. This has motivated researchers to develop cognitive radio (CR) as a smart and dynamic radio access promised solution. A major challenge to this new technology is how to make fair assignment of available spectrum to unlicensed users, particularly for smart grids communication. This paper introduces an i...
متن کاملSpectrum Sensing Data Falsification Attack in Cognitive Radio Networks: An Analytical Model for Evaluation and Mitigation of Performance Degradation
Cognitive Radio (CR) networks enable dynamic spectrum access and can significantly improve spectral efficiency. Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) exploits the spatial diversity between CR users to increase sensing accuracy. However, in a realistic scenario, the trustworthy of CSS is vulnerable to Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification (SSDF) attack. In an SSDF attack, some malicious CR users deli...
متن کاملVoice Holding Time Distribution in Trunked Pamr Systems
In this paper a statistical model of the call holding time in Public Access Mobile Radio) PAMR systems is presented. For this purpose a scanning receiver has been used to monitor the call duration, and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test has been applied to measure the goodness of fit of the candidate distributions. The exponential distribution often used to model trunked systems with the M/M/C queue i...
